You are invited to join the Change the World Weekend event on May 17-19, 2019. Change the World is an organization dedicated to transforming our local community through acts of service and opportunities to build relationships with our neighbors. Change The World Weekend offers children, teens, and adults the opportunity to pay it forward right here in their home community with a variety of projects that serve others who are hungry, in need of clothing, seeking safe shelter, and longing for comfort.

Watters Creek Spring Series “Concerts by the Creek” Runs Through June!

Whether it's family night or date night, the return of Watters Creek at Montgomery Farms’ popular, free, outdoor music series, Concerts by the Creek kicks off Saturday, April 6th with The Inspiration Band playing Top 40 Cover Music. Concerts are from 7 – 9 p.m. on The Green.

Top 5 Unique Places for Live Music in Allen

Music is a universal language that is able to bring people together no matter what age, race, gender or economic background. Music creates a mood whether happy or somber that everyone can relate to. There is just something about going out and watching a band or listening to a musician that is enjoyable to almost everyone. I have written about five completely different places around Allen that you can visit and hear music, some on weeknights and some on the weekends, so go out and enjoy yourself, bring your spouse or a group of friends and let loose!

Allen Police to offer Rape Aggression Defense training, starting May 28th

The Allen Police Department will be hosting a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course, starting Tuesday, May 28th. The course runs for four consecutive Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30pm. The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.

The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, dropped a 4-1 decision to the Wichita Thunder at the INTRUST bank arena on Saturday night. For the first time in the Americans ten-year history, the club failed to qualify for the postseason.
