ACO's Annual Christmas Adoption Program Needs Your Help

Take the time to be a part of our annual program to make the holidays brighter for a child or teen in our area. Without you and your generosity, these neighbors would not have basic needs met this holiday season.

Again this year, ACO is planning to make the holidays a little happier with our Christmas Adoption Program, but we need your help! ACO is concentrating on the hundreds of children and teenagers here in Allen who’s families are facing hardships. During the holidays, their hardships are compounded with added financial pressures. Last year donors helped provide a Merry Christmas for more than 800 local kids!

Simply go to the DONOR ADOPT FORM link below,  Once that process is complete, ACO Staff will match you with the next available child or teen on our list. (Due to the size of the program, we are no longer able to offer you a choice in gender or age.)

You will be contacted to pick up your packet, which will include the adoptee’s wish list of clothing items and sizes. Their critical needs may include a new coat, shoes, belts, under garments, etc.

A gift bag with a label will be provided to you, along with all of the details for drop off. ACO’s goal is to have as many as possible adoptions made before Black Friday, as we all want to shop the sales the day after Thanksgiving. The earlier you sign up, the earlier we can get your adoptee info to you.

One very important note:
You will have ONE DAY ONLY to drop off your gift bags: MONDAY, DECEMBER 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The drop off location has changed from the past to the program host church:
703 S. Greenville Ave., Allen

We appreciate your support of Allen Community Outreach and the families we serve. Throughout the year, families are able to shop for gently used clothes, shoes and basic needs from our resale shops. For many, Christmastime is their only opportunity to receive anything NEW!  Thank you for working with us as our program changes to focus on the most critical needs of children- new clothing items!

If you have any questions about adoptions, please contact Jayme Gowins, Outreach Specialist at jgowins@acocares.org

For volunteer opportunities, contact Janis Christie, Volunteer Director at jchristie@acocares.org.

Thank you in advance for your participation again this year. In the first 4 days of the sign-up period for families requesting assistance for their children through this program, more than 100 have registered. We expect a large number of requests for help this year. WE NEED YOU!

Please share this email with friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to help insure that each and every local child from age 0 to 18 is provided with clothing and basic needs this holiday season.

NEW this year, is a partnership that ACO has developed with the newly formed Collin County TOYS FOR TOTS.
Toys for Tots will be the main distributor of toys in our community, allowing ACO to concentrate on providing families in need with the vital, basic services, including: food and clothing for children ages 0-18 during the holidays.

You may still drop off new, unwrapped toys at all Allen Fire Stations from November 24 through December 10.
