Top 5 Places for Craft Cocktails in Allen

This month for the Top 5, I focused on crafted cocktails. What is the anatomy of a crafted cocktail you ask?  A crafted cocktail is one that uses the bar’s best ingredients, which include fresh juices, homemade syrups, and small batch craft spirits!  They are all the rage right now and I will tell you that it’s neither a fad nor faze because craft cocktails are made with passion, skill and a greater love for the parts rather than its whole!  Check out these restaurants and bars for my top 5 crafted cocktails!  CHEERS!

The Cellar Craft & Kitchen

The Cellar is such a gem!  Their drinks are delicious from beginning to end.  The first cocktail I had was a Blueberry Mint To Be Mojito, which was an original Mojito but The Cellar adds in mulled blueberries, lime and mint, fresh lime juice and homemade simple syrup.  Every single sip of this drink was refreshing and so fresh. I also tried their Knock Knock, which is another fresh and light drink, perfect for summer!  The Knock Knock is made with Gin or Vodka, mulled raspberries and cucumbers, soda water, fresh lime juice and a few secret ingredients!  How they get the perfect light cucumber taste, I will never know, believe me, we asked!!  On a warm summers day The Cellar is the place to be!

Brio Tuscan Grille

Brio’s bar is another great place to be in the summer; their bar backs up to the beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the creek but has the advantage of being in the air-conditioning.  There were so many crafted cocktail choices at Brio that it was honestly hard to choose!  They have a new summer cocktail menu that has recently come out that included drink names such as; Blackberry Fizz, Blackberry Cooler and a Blackberry Infused Como!  My two favorite crafted cocktails were the Blackberry infused Cosmo which included homemade blackberry and pineapple infusion, black raspberry liqueur, fresh lime juice and a basil simple syrup.  My second favorite was the White Peach Sangria that was crafted with fresh peach nectar, fresh mulled fruit and the best Chardonnay.

I love finding those random places you would never expect to find fancy crafted cocktails!  I have been pleasantly pleased with PinStack every time I walk in.  I made my way to their big beautiful bar in the front and was immediately told about the new summer drinks!  The first crafted cocktail that I tasted was the “Her Sangria” yes, they do have a “His Sangria” too! The one I tried was made with Chardonnay and had delicious hints of peaches, it was something that I could have sipped on all day.  The second cocktail was their Key Lime Pie Martini, talk about delicious, it even had a beautiful crushed graham cracker dusting on top of the drink.  It was sweet like a dessert, so it was the perfect cocktail to end my meal with!

Bar Louie

Just walking into Bar Louie is fun, they have a happy atmosphere that is casual and vivacious!  One thing I loved about Bar Louie was that they had crafted cocktails that were actually paired with certain food items.  My first crafted cocktail was the Paloma Del Toro, it was made with tequila, Aperol, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, lime and kosher salt and it was paired with their delicious Avocado and Shrimp Toast!  My second favorite was called the Bourbon Basil Bash that was made with Bourbon, O3 orange liqueur, pure cane sugar, fresh lemon juice, fresh muddled basil and blackberries.  This drink was paired with their blackened salmon sliders.  I normally do not like bourbon but this drink has me singing a new tune!  Delicious!

iPic Theater in Fairview

Here’s another place that I would not have expected to find crafted cocktails, however IPic is the classiest movie theater around and I really enjoyed the darker romantic atmosphere.  One of my most favorite crafted cocktails that I want to try and create at home was called the Illegalito!  This cocktail would be perfect around the pool or on the beach, it was a pineapple piece of heaven!  The Illegalito was made with rum, passion fruit, coconut, fresh pineapple, hand-pressed mint and sparkling water.  My second favorite was not on the list but the bartender made an incredible Jalapeno Margarita, so if that sounds good, just ask!  They have you covered!
