About Foundation For Allen Schools

The Foundation for Allen Schools is a separate nonprofit education foundation which exists solely to support Allen ISD teachers and students. The Foundation was established in 1997 by a group of school and community leaders who were charged with utilizing a donation from two sisters and long-time Allen residents,  Miss Viola Rose and Mrs. Minnie Rose Shelton. The Foundation For Allen Schools will fund 124 grants to Allen ISD teachers and staff for the 2018-19 school year. These grants – which impact every campus and include all subject categories – total $120,000. This is the largest amount funded for one year by the Foundation. The Educational Grant program provides funding for innovative, creative classroom and campus programs and projects. Nearly 200 Allen ISD teachers will be involved in this year’s program and the grants should impact more than 16,000 students.
