Kick Off the Holiday Season at “Light the Night”, Nov. 23rd

Join Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm as it kicks off the holiday season withLight the Night Christmas tree lighting and Santa welcoming party Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. This event will help get the community in the holiday spirit and begin Watters Creek’s robust line-up of holiday events.

KISS FM’s Billy the Kidd, the evening’s emcee, will get the party started at 4:30 p.m. To add to the fun, Mrs. Claus will pass out free cookies, and there will also be complimentary carriage rides, hot cider, caroling, face painting and more.

Enjoy sounds of the season with the Allen Symphony Chorus singing holiday favorites. Costumed performers from the Allen Civic Ballet will be on hand and ready for photos with guests, while the Allen Arts Alliance hosts crafts for kids, and Allen ISD features an art exhibit to enjoy across from Village Burger Bar.

At 6:30 p.m., guests will be dazzled when Santa lights the 30-foot tree, the star of both the night and Watters Creek’s holiday display. The tree sparks a 145,000-glittering light display that includes 20 other Christmas trees and Santa’s sleigh with his reindeer. The lights are synchronized to holiday music and play every hour from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. daily through New Year’s Day to keep the spirit alive even after Christmas is over.

The evening’s festivities will be topped-off with a spectacular fireworks display.

After the tree lighting, Santa will return to his Village, next to Village Burger Bar, for photos and wishes, so be sure to stop by and meet him.

“Light the Night is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with the entire community,” said Debra Martinez, marketing director for Watters Creek. “What’s exciting about this event is how it is just the beginning of so many fun Christmas activities and events that are sure to make everyone’s holiday spirit brighter.”
