Annual Allen Civic Ballet's event Pirouettes for Pets, March 21st
The Allen Civic Ballet will present its annual, “Pirouettes for Pets,” a free dance performance on Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. in the Allen Civic Auditorium at the Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Drive. The Ballet hopes to raise awareness about the needs of Allen area animals. The Allen Animal Shelter will be on hand with adorable and adoptable animals. The concert will feature excerpts from the ballets “Don Quixote,” “The Sleeping Beauty” and “Paquita,” along with original, contemporary works. The show will conclude with “Stupid Ballerina Tricks,” with a winner being selected by the audience. Admission is free, but donations to the Allen Animal Shelter are welcome. About Allen Civic Ballet:
The Allen Civic Ballet is a 501(c)3 non-profit dance company established in 1999 by five dancers who were studying under Nathalie Krassovska, Prima Ballerina of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and London Festival Ballet. The Ballet seeks to offer high quality, affordable and enjoyable dance performances in Allen, while providing valuable experience to those considering a career in the profession. The company is open by audition to all dancers ages 12-21 and offers local students at the advanced, pre-professional level.
